No Harmful Substances in Food Products on Untung Jawa Island

All are safe for consumption. We also did not find any expired products still being sold

The Jakarta Drug and Food Monitoring Agency (BPOM) along with the Thousand Islands Industry Trade Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Sub-agency, held a sudden inspection (sidak) in Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands Sub-district, on Friday (6/4). As a result, they found no harmful substances in food products.

"Besides monitoring, his side also shares education related to the use of hazardous and expired food ingredients that could endanger health," expressed Jakarta BPOM Head, Safriansyah.

He stated that at the same time there was also an examination on the drugs sold by traders in the stalls.

"We also share education and are reminded to be diligent in checking the expiration date of the drugs sold," he explained.

PPKUKM Sub-agency Head, Bangun Richard added it done to follow up the cooperation in monitoring and assisting SMEs in Thousand Islands.

"All are safe for consumption. We also did not find any expired products still being sold," he stated.
